The Argentine Dogo, muscular and simetric, is a very atractiv breed. His massive head, frightening jaws and powerfull neck make this dog an undefeatable hunter. The Dogo is the concentration of at least ten breeds with their particular caracteristics.

History: Dr. Antonio Nores Martínez during the twenties , was distinguished for producing the first native breed in Argentina. The Dogo was created for grupal hunting purposes with species like the Jabalí, Puma and Jaguar.

The ground was needing a dog with extraordinary fisical conditions, and the Dogo can run great distances mantaining a considerable speed and still with strength enough to hunt its prey.

The native fighting dogs in Cordoba, a mixture of Spanish Mastiff , Bull Terrier, ancient Bull Dog and Boxer were used in his breeding program. Searching for a taller dog, they used the german Dogo; for endurance and white color the Pyrenear Mastif; for smell he used the Pointer ; for speed the irish Wolfhound and a little of the Bordeaux Dogo add strength and courage. It´s recognized for the F.C.I. The Argentine Dogo, intrepid and untiring , born guardian, it´s getting each day more and more popular internationaly.

Coat: Very short and dense, smooth and brilliant.
